The first Formula 1 Grand Prix of Hungary was held in 1986 on the circuit called Hungaroring. The circuit of Hungary lies in Mogyoród, near the capital city Budapest. It was first Grand Prix that was held in the former Soviet Union (USSR). Bernie Ecclestone wanted a street race in the Soviet Union and suggested to build a track in the Népliget, Budapest's largest park, but the government decided to build a new circuit just outside the city.

Spectators have a beautiful view from almost any place, because the Hungarian Circuit is build in a natural valley. Hungarian Grand Prix is also known to be dusty and dry because of the natural valley. Normally the track gets faster over the weekend as it rubbers in, but generally that doesn’t happen because it can get dusty so quickly.

The most foreign fans come out of Germany and Austria, but there have also been some Finnish and Polish fans. Finnish fans come to cheer for Kimi Räikkönen and Polish fans for Robert Kubica. It’s also one of the fairly good priced Grand Prix’s, also for flight tickets and the local prices for food, drinks and hotels. Further more the date is in the middle of the summer making it’s easier to visit and Budapest itself is a beautiful city.
